Euro _ not yet bottomed out
THE sharp selloff on the euro this fortnight led to some interesting comments on the birth sign of the currency and its sun sign traits. The astrology pundits claimed that since the euro is a Capricorn, it is not good at holding up under duress. The euro sank to touch all-time lows of 0.9665 against the dollar at the start of last week!

Fed rate hike cycle not over
IF there is one economy that deserves a place as one of the world's wonders it could well be the mighty American economy. Having already made traditional economic theories redundant, the surging American economy seems like it will again defy analysts' ex pectations of a modest slowdown in 2000.

Burgeoning NPAs portend soft interest rates
A MAJOR shakeout in the domestic interest rate markets with rates getting into a conclusive downward trend appears possible over the course of the next two to three years. Causing such a trend-setting directional move in interest rates could be a dramati c shrinkage in the earnings potential of the asset side of banking balance sheets.
