CHENNAI, Feb. 26.
THE Colombo-based Link Natural Products (Pvt) Ltd (LNP), a manufacturer of over-the-counter herbal health care products, has entered the Indian market with `Samahan', a herbal cure for cold and flu.
The product is being marketed by the Chennai-based Kadambha International, the exclusive distributors for South India. Samahan will hit the markets in Chennai and Kovai first before being introduced in other markets. A three-month test marketing had show
ed promise, and soon other products would be introduced, said the distributors.
Addressing newspersons at the formal launch of Samahan here, the Managing Director of LNP, Mr. Devapriya Nugawela, said Samahan was an extract of 14 herbs with proven efficacy.
LNP has a turnover of SLRs. 50 crores, with exports aaccounting for 50 per cent of it. The major exports are to Germany, Switzerland and the US. LNP hopes to put up a manufacturing facility in India as a joint venture, once the sales justify such a move.
