ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP) is a means of real time integration of a business process prevailing in any enterprise mapped to the system so as to effectively manage the resources and improve the efficiency of the enterprise. The concept of ERP has evolved from MRP (Material Resource Planning) in the mid-70s which brought in the production management and planning. With the advancement of technology it has become easy to have an ERP package designed to model and automate all the processes of a compa ny from finance to the shop floor, customer to inventory and across the companies.
