Sugar: Not so sweet news
SUGAR prices have been fluctuating in the last few months. Trends in the monthly prices of domestic sugar, S-30 in the Mumbai market has seen an improvement by around 7 per cent to Rs. 1,535 per quintal as compared to the same period in the previous year. Prices have been hovering above the Rs. 1,500-mark in three of the last four months. Is this an indication of firming up of sugar prices? Not necessarily.
