Gangavaram port -- AP Govt not all at sea now
The Gangavaram port project has been in the air since the 1960s, with several agencies eyeing it, the first being National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) which exports iron ore mined at Bailadilla (MP) through MMTC.

Ocean freight market buoyant
THE OCEAN freight market showed unusual firmness in June, as the rates on all routes were supported by the continued strength of oil prices. Shipowners and charterers competed to gain the initiative in a market marked by unseasonal firmness.

THE PARADIP Port Trust (PPT) will shortly appeal to the Union Government for the construction of a new national highway on a toll basis between Bhubaneswar and Paradip, bypassing Cuttack.

P&O PORTS, recently named the `preferred tenderer' for the Chennai Container Terminal (CCT) project, has received the formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Government.
