No talks on VRS: SBI Staff Fed
Our Bureau
CALCUTTA, Sept. 26
THERE has been no discussion between the All India SBI Staff Federation and the State Bank management on the implementability of the employees' voluntary retirement scheme (VRS), according to Mr Ashok Datta, Assistant Secretary of the Federation.
In a statement here today, Mr. Datta said,
"The management has not discussed anything in this regard with the All India State Bank of India Staff Federation which commands the support of 100 per cent employees of the bank." The statement emphasised that there was no scope for holding such discuss
ion either, as the Federation was opposed to VRS.
"We are fighting against VRS which aims at downsizing of the workforce in banks and de-unionisation of the banking industry," the statement added.
