RiceTec withdraws `Kasmati' registration in UK
CLOSE on the heels of its success in forcing RiceTec Inc. to retract four crucial claims in its so-called basmati rice patent, the Government has said it has also succeeded in getting the Texas-based rice breeder to withdraw its registration of `Kasmati' as a trademark in the UK for basmati rice.

Soyabean prices rule high in MP
CONTRARY to apprehension that the prices of kharif season major oilseeds - groundnut in-shell and soyabean - would crash to the minimum support price (MSP) level with the commencement of harvest, the market is showing signs of a welcome buoyancy, albeit marginal, thanks to some export demand.
