JNPT bid to get RTG cranes on lease
THE Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) proposes to acquire on lease about 10 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes. The proposal has already been ratified by the JNPT Board of Trustees. The process of acquisition to be spread over several months is expected t o be over by the next financial year.

`Pvt operators must honour wage agreement
THE private operators at the major ports will have to pay the workers, taken over by them, wages and salaries equivalent to the one set out in the new wage agreement signed between the Indian Ports Association (IPA) and the five workers federations on Au gust 2.

BOT projects at major ports -- Pvt bidders offered revenue-sharing option
PRIVATE operators short-listed by the major ports trusts, for developing projects on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis through tenders will be allowed to opt for the revenue-sharing concept in line with the fresh guidelines issued by the Centre f or private sector entry.
