NON-TECHNOLOGY shares came back into the reckoning on Thursday as stock prices moved up on the back of thin volumes. The BSE Sensex rose by 0.4 per cent to close at 4,124.91. The Nifty at the NSE gained 0.3 per cent.

THE Calcutta Stock Exchange continued to witness a surge in the share price of ACC on Thursday. The scrip closed at Rs 158.50, up from Rs 150.30 on the previous close. It also recorded the highest number of trades at 82.95 lakh.

Narrow movement
TRADING on Thursday witnessed narrow movement in both the indices. The trends of both the indices continued to be in the upward direction. During the close, the bulls managed to gain marginally. Market sentiment remained bullish indicating a strong under current in favour of the bulls.
