The amazing tale of a monk and two peas
IN the winter of 1864-65, Gregor Mendel, a monk, sat in the St. Thomas Monastery in the city of Brunn to script a detailed thesis on the laws of heredity. Mendel walked up the winding hill of Backergasse towards Realschule to present the findings to a an audience of 40 scientists. It made no impression.
