NRI investment goes untracked -- Incentives fail to increase FDI inflow
STRANGE though it may sound, the Union Government does not have any mechanism to track the inflow of actual investment by non-resident Indians (NRIs) through the foreign direct investment (FDI) route into various sectors of the industry.

THE Government has told the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to focus on ensuring adequate floating stock in companies and to settle for a reasonable figure of Rs 50 crore while changing the norms for minimum public offering of equity from 2 5 to 10 per cent for all sectors.
