COCHIN Shipyard has achieved the unique feat of launching a vessel without using a dock or building berth.

Plan for shipbreaking unit near Tannirbhavi beach
EVEN as coastal Karnataka waits for the setting up of the 220-MW naphtha-based Tannirbhavi barge-mounted power project -- with the barge itself slated to arrive in January -- reports that a shipbreaking unit is to be set up in the vicinity of the Tannirb havi beach has once again raised the hackles of the fishermen of the region.

BTL feeder ship skips Haldia
`TIGER Creek', the container feeder vessel belonging to Bengal Tiger Line (BTL) and bringing boxes from Singapore on Maersk Sealand account, P&O and others, skipped its call at Haldia due on Monday/Tuesday and came straight to the Calcutta Dock System (C DS) on Wednesday.
