CoPT wants solution dredged for channel
THE Cochin Port Trust (CoPT) has requested the Chennai-based National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) on ways to minimise siltation in the channel. This is part of its effort to cut down on the huge expenditure incurred on maintenance dredging every year.

Air exports through Chennai are currently estimated at approximately 5,00 0 tonnes a month and air imports at 3,500 tonnes.
