Adjudicator to sort out 3 pending issues at ports
THE Union Labour Ministry has appointed Mr B P Sharma, a retired High Court Chief Justice, as an adjudicator to settle three pending issues, referred to the adjudicator in accordance with Clause 35 of the Wage Revision Settlement (dated August 8, 2000) u nder Industrial Disputes Act,1947.

Peddapalli-Karimnagar rail line inaugurated
THE 177-km Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad rail link project which was sanctioned in 1993-94 was partially completed with the inauguration of the first passenger train on the Peddapalli-Karimnagar sector and the laying of the foundation stone of the new railway line between Karimnagar and Nizamabad by the Minister of State for Railways, Mr O. Rajagopal.

NHAI set to hit market with second bond issue
THE National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will enter the market for the second time this fiscal with a bond issue carrying a coupon rate of 9.25 per cent annually. The bonds are exempt from long-term capital gains tax under the newly created Sectio n 54 EC of the Income-Tax Act.
