Politics
No use mud-slinging
The clever journalists of tehelka.com have virtually trapped some of the key figures in the Army and some top politicians, using a hidden camera. The bribe was offered. It was not demanded. The journalists approached the key persons and sought their help and, in turn, they offered some gifts. Accepting gifts from unknown people is not ethical. But it is not a crime. If the deals were finalised based on the gift, then the `acceptance' becomes an unpardonable crime.

Power
No time for Enron?
Every individual in the political circles seems to be busy nowadays, honing his/her high-falutin rhetoric -- the inevitable fall-out of the tehelka.com expose. So, where is the time or inclination for anybody in the Government to resolve the payment cris is posed by Enron which has ``become an albatross around Maharashtra's neck''? (`Enron: Look at the larger picture', Business Line, March, 21).
