ADB concerned at project delays
THE Asian Development Bank (ADB) contends that the implementation of the Bank--financed projects in India continued to be affected by delays in recruiting consultants and in selecting and awarding contracts, even as ADB approved nine loans for five proje cts totaling $1.3 billion in 2000.

Export Watch
4 items lead export surge
THE 21 per cent export growth the country clocked during the first 11 months of the 2000-01 fiscal stemmed essentially from four big ticket traditional products such as textiles, chemicals and related products, engineering goods and leather and manufactu res which together account for 56 per cent of the aggregate exports.
