Low offers for FCI wheat export tender
EXPORTING firms have offered very low prices for the wheat offered for shipments abroad by the Food Corporation of India through an open tender, official sources have said.

THE paddy purchase centres set up by the AP Civil Supplies Corporation in the Godavari districts and elsewhere in the State to ensure minimum support price to the farmers, have had little impact on the market and they are being wound up now, as the khari f season is set to commence now with the onset of south-west monsoon and the rabi crop is getting over at the farm level.

Raw jute supply to Bengal mills halted
THE supply of raw jute to mills in West Bengal has stopped against the backdrop of an agitation by the West Bengal Jute Sellers' Association (WBJSA). Around 1,500 jute sellers in the State, who provide a vital link between mills and farmers, have launche d a five-day `supply stoppage' programme since June 3.
