Lyons Range

THE Ranbaxy scrip made an intraday gain of 3.85 per cent as it closed at Rs 521 at the Calcutta Stock Exchange on Thursday.

The scrip notched up a turnover of Rs 4.29 crore in the total turnover of the exchange of Rs 69.01 crore. The Satyam Computer counter recorded the highest turnover of the session at Rs 29.17 crore and moved up by 1.81 per cent. Notable among the other ga iners were the equities of Digital Equipment and L&T.

The Tata Steel stock shed 7.67 per cent at the closing price of Rs 92.70. The shares of Tata Tea, Global Tele, DSQ Software were among the losers.

The CSE-50, after touching a low of 115.28, closed at 122.80 points against the previous closing of 123.98. -- Our Bureau
