Health food expo in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, Nov. 20

NUTRIFIT, a health promoting centre run by three woman nutrition specialists here, is organising a three-day health food expo from November 23 to bring about nutrition awareness among people and offer customised nutritional guidance and consultancy servi ces to the needy.

The theme of the expo is Health on your plate. Nutrifit, started two years ago, has made rapid strides and some food companies and pharmaceuticals are taking part in the expo to promote their health foods and snacks.

According to Dr Janaki, Dr Latha Sashi and Dr Janaki Srinath, the food that people eat decides their destiny towards diseases. Diet is the only cornerstone for prevention and treatment of disease as well as maintenance of health. Taking low-cost nutritio us food to strengthen the immune system can prevent most of the diseases.

They said diets that contained anti-oxidants could help in the prevention of cancer.

The expo highlights the importance of balanced diets for various stages of lifeand gives an assessment of risk profile. The Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, is expected to inaugurate the expo.
