BANGALORE: Subex Systems Ltd, the Bangalore-based telecom software company has registered a sequential growth of 19 per cent in net profits and 5.85 per cent in income for the quarter-ended December 31 over the previous quarter. The company reported a net profit of Rs 1.48 crore (Rs 1.24 cr in Q2) on a total income of Rs 15.19 crore (14.30 crore).

Compared to the corresponding quarter previous fiscal the net profits have declined to an extent of 47.72 per cent, while there is a mariginal increase in income. The Chairman and Managing Director of Subex Systems, Mr Subhas Menon, said the company's focus on products is paying off while the software services business has not recorded any growth during quarters as several of the contracts got cancelled and also the margins have been affected due to the slowdown in telecom industry globally.

However, the company's continued focus and efforts on telecom software products, branded as RevMaxTM, have resulted in the acquisition of several overseas customers and a consequent substantial growth in product revenues. In order to sustain the growth, the company has been investing extensively into manpower and operations. The interest payments have also gone up and has resulted in increased operating expenses during the period under review.
