HYDERABAD, Feb. 8

AIR Sahara, formerly Sahara Airlines, has launched daily direct flight service to Hyderabad from Kolkata and Bangalore.

According to Mr Uttam Kumar Bose, Chief Executive Officer, the airline which belongs to the Rs 16,000-crore Sahara India Pariwar, has a fleet of nine new generation aircraft and will add three more to its strength in a couple of months to connect all regional centres in the country in the second phase. It is operating 43 flights a day and wants to increase them to 100.

The airline which operates 50-seater planes wants to connect all pilgrimage and tourist destinations. As part of the programme Delhi and Mumbai would be connected to Hyderabad.

Mr Bose said Air Sahara was planning to enter into a marketing tie-up with two international airlines to cash in on the foreign business and tourist traffic. It would introduce online auction of seats and a Bid and Win scheme onboard for the benefit of passengers.
