Rubber flat on weak demand

Our Correspondent

KOTTAYAM, March 18

RUBBER prices ruled flat to weak on low demand on Monday. While RSS 4 and ISNR 20 suffered marginal loss, other grades managed to maintain the previous level.

RSS4 and block rubber ISNR 20 declined as the tyre sector stayed out of the market. There was moderate trading in other grades. Trading activities continued to suffer on account of non-availability of delivery note books from the sales tax office.

Some traders alleged that sales tax officials were wreaking vengeance on the trading community for not supporting the State Government employees' when they went on strike for a month. Sheet rubber RSS 4 declined a tad to Rs 30.25 from Rs 30.50 per kg on Saturday. Other grades remained unchanged; RSS 5 at Rs 28.50, ungraded rubber at Rs 27.50, ISNR 20 at 28.50 and latex concentrate at Rs 27.50 per kg.
