Escotel crosses five-lakh mark

NEW DELHI: Escotel, the cellular service provider in Kerala, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh (West) has crossed the five-lakh customer mark across its circles of operation. This makes it the fourth largest cellular operator after Hutchison, AirTel and Batata-BPL combine.

This was disclosed by Mr. Rajan Nandam Chairman Escorts Group, while inaugurating the second Mobile Switching Centre for Uttar Pradesh (West) in Meerut on Tuesday.

Mr Nanada noted that Escorts has identified cellular telephony as one of the core areas of its business and this five-lakh customer milestone reflect the potential for mobile telephony in these circles.
