Sheet rubber a tad lower

KOTTAYAM: Sheet rubber prices declined following consumers quoting lower rates while the prices of block rubber and latex concentrate remained steady.

Disbursal of export assistance for rubber by the Rubber Board during 2002-03 is yet to happen as fund allocation from the Ministry of Commerce usually takes place only in May. Rubber exporting agencies are awaiting the allocation to restart their procurement operations.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 declined to Rs 34.50 from Rs 34.75 per kg on Tuesday as also RSS 5 to Rs 32.50 from Rs 33 and ungraded rubber to Rs 30.50 from Rs 31.25. However, block rubber ISNR 20 and latex concentrate remained flat at Rs 32 and Rs 28.50 per kg respectively.
