Promotions & Offers Samsung unveils mega promotion campaign Our Bureau
Mr R. Zutshi, Vice-President, Samsung India, unveils the `Dabaake jeeto offer', the company's new mega promotion campaign, in Kochi on Friday.
KOCHI, May 3 SAMSUNG India Electronics Ltd unveiled its `Dabaake jeeto offer', the mega promotion campaign for the forthcoming soccer season, in Kerala on Friday with the objective of stimulating the market and optimising the sales of its various products. In Kochi alone, the company is expecting to notch up a sales of Rs 18 crore and colour TV sales of over 10,000 units during the promotion campaign. The total cost of this consumer promotion throughout the country is Rs 15 crore and the company expects sales worth Rs 310 crore during the promotion period, Mr R. Zutshi, Vice President (Sales), told newspersons. In order to provide better service to customers, all Samsung Service centres in Kerala would remain open till midnight between May 31 and June 30. The company would also keep ready standby sets as loan units for customers in case a customer set requires to be brought to the service centre for repairs, he added. According to Mr Zutshi, the company has targeted a 25.5 per cent sales growth in the Kerala market this year and expects to notch up a turnover of Rs 66 crore from the State. There are also plans to expand the dealer network by 17 per cent this year. The State's contribution to the company's turnover from the south is set to increase to 16 per cent from 15 per cent. During the year 2002, Samsung expects a 58 per cent growth in its home appliances business from the State. The southern region was the second largest contributor to the company's all-India turnover, with the contribution from the south set to increase to 27 per cent compared to 26 per cent last year. The company also expects to notch up sales of Rs 410 crore from the southern region this year, he added. Mr Zutshi also said that the company is targeting a sales turnover of Rs 668 crore from the home appliances business all over the country, which would account for approximately 44 per cent of its targeted year 2002 turnover of Rs 1,520 crore. Samsung is also looking at a growth of 19 per cent in the home appliances business this year.
