Rly staff want tax on perks to go

NEW DELHI, May 28

RAILWAY officers and staff associations have stepped up pressure on the Government to withdraw tax on the perquisite value of railway passes and privileged ticket order (PTO).

The federations staged a protest here against the deduction of income-tax on the value of passes and PTOs and sought the Railway Minister, Mr Nitish Kumar's intervention.
