BMP move on rain water harvesting

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagar Palike has decided to adopt rain-water harvesting technology in parks and gardens managed by it to prevent flooding of low-lying areas and water-logging on roads during rains.

The decision comes in the wake of extensive flooding in the city during rains last week. About six people were killed in rain-related incidents and the BMP had come in for a sharp criticism at the hands of public for showing negligence in controlling the flooding. More than 400 parks in the city come under the purview of BMP.
