The Hindu Business Line : CII, ISRO mull working group for hardware needs

THE Confederation of Indian Industry and the Indian Space Research Organisation are planning a joint working group in providing systems and hardware for the space activities.

The suggestion from the CII Karnataka President, Mr K. Lakshminarayan, came up during discussions between ISRO and its current and potential industry partners here on Wednesday, the ISRO Chairman, Dr K. Kasturirangan, announced at the end of a space industry meet.

During the dialogue, "companies showed willingness to make investments in facilities, human resources, new systems and in developing public-private or private-private partnerships...

They have come forward to do total systems as during the Tenth Plan, ISRO would be graduating from buying components to procuring entire systems from the industry," Dr Kasturirangan said.
