Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, June 13

THE Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) has welcomed the Government's decision to recall Indian warships from forward patrolling near Pakistan shoreline in the northern Arabian Sea to their bases near Mumbai.

In a statement, the Assocham President, Mr K.K. Nohria, described the move as a "substantive measure'' to de-escalate tension at the military level. He held that such a move should be reciprocated by the other side to bring about normalcy at the border.
