Spic launches bio-enzyme poultry feed

Our Bureau

THE Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Ltd (Spic) has launched three bio-enzyme formulations for the poultry feed intended to enhance the digestibility of the feed and improving the feed conversion ratio among poultry birds.

The three commercial poultry enzymes — chickase, gainase and phytase — were launched at Coimbatore last week.

The enzymes recommended for application in feeds for broiler, layer and parent stocks are found to increase egg production by two per cent, allow broiler gain weight up to 100 g besides facilitating higher energy value of the feed up to 12 per cent, said Dr S. Balaji, Senior Manager (Enzyme Marketing), Biotech Division of Spic.

The launch was scheduled at Coimbatore considering the fact that this region accounted for the largest number of integrated poultry farmers in the country.
