CPDCL plan to revamp power supply network

Our Bureau

FOLLOWING a series of power-related accidents in the State, the Central Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Ltd (CPDCL) has come out with an action plan for revamping the entire distribution network.

CPDCL has also warned its field officers that severe action will be taken against them if they failed to implement the action plan.

Earlier, the power distribution company had transferred as many as 30 officials right from the level of divisional engineers to section officers in connection with the power-related accidents that had resulted in the death of a dozen people in various parts of the State in the past few weeks.

According to a CPDCL press release, the action plan includes periodic checking up of transformer structures, fencing the transformer sites in accident-prone locations and inspection of all earth connections.
