Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Aug 15

A MAJORITY of the respondents to the Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) 17th business outlook survey of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector have suggested a further increase to the investment limit while favouring the continuation of their SSI status.

The respondents held that an increase in investment limit would enable them in technology upgradation. They also expressed their eagerness to infuse fresh capital to upgrade their technologies, said a statement issued here by CII.

The interim report of the survey, which is based on an analysis of more than 1,000 responses (direct and indirect) from CII members in the SME sector, has highlighted that about 86 per cent of the respondents plan to authorise more capital investment vis-a-vis the previous year.
