Marginal cut in petrol, diesel prices

MUMBAI, Aug. 15

PUBLIC sector oil companies today announced a marginal reduction in prices of petrol and high-speed diesel.

According to a press release issued by BPCL, the reduction in prices ranges from 18 to 22 paise per litre effective midnight August 15/16.

The actual decrease in prices would depend on sales tax and local levies in each States.

The revised selling price of petrol in Mumbai would be Rs 33.44 per litre as against Rs 33.64. In Delhi, the revised rate will be Rs 29 (Rs 29.18), Chennai Rs 31.44 (Rs 31.64) and Kolkata Rs 29.44 ( Rs 29.63).

Revised HSD prices in Mumbai will be Rs 22.95 (Rs 23.16) in Delhi, Rs18.05 (Rs18.23), Chennai Rs19.86 (Rs 20.06) and in Kolkata Rs 18.43 (Rs 18.61.) According to oil companies, the reduction in prices follows the softening of petrol product prices in the international market.
