THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Aug. 20

THE Technopark-based Toonz Animation India has signed a deal with Indigo, a London-based independent distributor and co-producer of high quality films, drama series, documentaries and children's programming, to distribute its new project, `The Adventures of Tenali'.

Indigo will take worldwide television, video, DVD and licensing rights, excluding India and Singapore, as part of an ongoing agreement with Toonz, which includes Asian distribution rights for `How To Care for Your Monster', a co-production with UK-based Treehouse Productions and Canada-based Vivamundo, according to Ms Suzie Giblin, Head of Kids at Indigo.

`The Adventures of Tenali' (26x11 minutes) has a touch of Bollywood and a little Hollywood, and is an entertaining blend of history and fantasy. The series is due to be completed in November and launched in India in December.

Toonz Animation, set up in 1998, provides animation services to Western companies including Cartoon Network, Rainbow and Neptuno.

Toonz won the first prize at World Animation Celebration 2000 in Los Angeles for its short film, `Stone Crusher', making it the first Indian animation studio to receive an international award.
