Priced at Rs 999, the product offers free airtime worth Rs 499 on a start up kit in addition to a daily rental of Rs 10. The incoming and outgoing rates would be charged at Rs 1.15 per 30-second pulse during peak hours and Rs 0.25 per 30-second pulse during off peak hours, he told newspersons on Thursday. The introduction of the latest product would help all the cellular subscribers and change the `face and dynamics' of the cellular industry in the State. The product is set to catalyse further growth of the mobile market in Andhra Pradesh given the convenience offered to customers that choose to go mobile, Mr Balakrishnan said. In tune with the nationwide trend that is heavily loaded in favour of pre-paid cards, which averages over 60 per cent, as is the case with Andhra Pradesh market, this product fits well into the requirements of Class B and C towns. Majority of mobile phone users in class A towns have shown preference for post paid plans. The new product builds in all voice and messaging features, pre-activated STD and ISD facility and host of other features, he said. Bharti Mobile has a subscriber base of about over 3 lakh cellular users in the State (accounting for about 49 per cent market) commanding a presence in all the 23 districts with the coverage extending to over 150 towns and cities and about 5000 villages, he said.
