The Hindu Business Line : 2-day workshop on aseptic processing

A TWO-DAY technical workshop for the pharmaceutical industry will be held here on November 15 and 16 on aseptic processing. The All-India Drug Control Officers' Confederation and technology provider, Millipore, are hosting the workshop.

The programme is relevant to the pharma industry as good manufacturing practices will become the norm in the coming years and promote mutual understanding between regulators and manufacturers, the organisers said.

According to Mr Steve Tingley, Millipore's Boston-based Director Worldwide for New Initiatives in Aseptic Processing, India, with its strong bulk drugs base, should sharpen its GMP skills and meet global standards so as to exploit the emerging opportunities in generic drugs post-2005.

The event will focus on a typical drug development pipeline and regulatory expectations.

AIDCOC will also have its annual convention on November17.
