Kerala: Electricity regulatory panel set up

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government has constituted a State Electricity Regulatory Commission with Mr M.K.G. Pillai, former Director-General of Central Power Research Institute, as the Chairman.

The other members of the commission are Mr G.Raja Mohan, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Latex Ltd, and Mr C. Balakrishnan, former Chief Engineer of Kerala State Electricity Board.

Announcing the constitution of the commission at a press briefing after a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, the Chief Minister, Mr A.K. Antony, also said that a draft legislation to check power theft in the State was on the cards.
