Philips launches Internet audio system

MUMBAI, Dec. 16

PHILIPS India Ltd has launched its first broadband Internet audio system - Streamium Mc-i 200.

Pegged at Rs 34,990, the system can access multiple online music stations across the world including the likes of AOL Music, Radio Free, Radioio, Choice Radio, Virgin, Musicmatch, MP3.Com, andante and iM Networks, all at the touch of a button.

According to Ms Sharmila Sahai, General Manager-Audio and Video, Consumer Electronics Division, "Whatever is the present level of broadband penetration, we expect 2-3 per cent of the consumers using broadband to buy the product."
