Tata Coffee to pick up Barista shares

MUMBAI, Dec. 16

TATA Coffee Ltd has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that its board today decided to subscribe to 4,56,140 equity shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 50 per share offered by way of the rights issue by Barista Coffee Company Ltd.

Tata Coffee Ltd and Barista Coffee Company Ltd joined hands in 2001. Tata Coffee had then acquired 34.3 per cent equity in Barista.

Barista Coffee Company Ltd was established in September 1999 as a retailer of fine coffees through a chain of Espresso Bars under the brand `Barista'.
