Bad deal

This refers to `In banking, it pays to make haste, slowly' (Business Line, December 17).

The author has rightly exposed the side effects of the deal-based approach of new-generation banks.

The fundamentals of business have to be respected. A sound professional approach, adequate knowledge about innovative banking and management of risks should form the curriculum for the continuous training personnel.
