8 theatres for non-Kannada films

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has come out with a proposal to limit the release of films in other languages to eight theatres each across the State.

The move would encourage Kannada films Mr S. Ramesh, President, KFCC, said.

Of the 572 permanent theatres in the State, 75 screen non-Kannada language films. The move also comes in the wake of non-adherence to the stipulation that the films of other languages should be released two weeks after their release in other States.
