THE Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, has asked the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to make Hyderabad a permanent venue for its annual partnerships summits. Mr Naidu made the suggestion while addressing the valedictory session of the CII's Partnership Summit 2003 here.
In response, the Chairman of the partnership summit, Mr Sanjiv Goenka, said, "How can we say no to you sir? Your wish is our command."
Mr Goenka announced that CII's next summit would be held here.
The four-day partnership summit 2003, Mr Goenka said, was a varied fare. There was something for everyone.
During the summit, he said, there were 14 plenaries, six alternate programme sessions, a special session on agriculture-industry partnership, 13 networking luncheon sessions, three fabulous dinners, 50 speakers from 10 countries, 24 overseas delegations, 1,200 delegates, 14 bilaterals with Mr Naidu, 75 business meetings for overseas teams, signing of 41 MoUs totalling Rs 17,000 crore and CEOs' interaction with the Chief Minister.
"We in CII have just been through the most fascinating experience working with a State Government with a difference," Mr Goenka added.
