Rubber flat on steady supply

Our Correspondent

KOTTAYAM, Feb. 14

THE rubber market continued to move in a narrow band with supply position gradually strengthening to a moderate level.

The reports about showers in plantation areas in Malabar cast a shadow on the hopes of many growers who resorted to frantic selling as more rubber would come to the market following hectic tapping on summer rains.

Buyers appeared to be more cautious in their routine purchase schedules. Few of them were reluctant to purchase on the belief that the market would further come down and behave favourably to create a clean atmosphere.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 remained steady for the second day on Friday while RSS 5 subjected to constant fluctuations was also found flat with out changes. Block rubber ISNR 20 spurted to Rs 43 from Rs 42.75 on Thursday. Ungraded rubber slipped a tad to Rs 42 from Rs 42.25 and latex 60 per cent improved to Rs 32 from Rs 31.50 on Thursday.
