YOU HAVE DONE IT: Mr. Venu Srinivasan, Managing Director, TVS Motor Company Ltd (right), being greeted by Mr Brijmohan Lall, Chairman, Hero Motors, at a function in the Capital on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI, Feb. 18

AS a recipient of prestigious international awards such as the Deming award and the Japan Quality Medal, the TVS group found it natural to hold forth on the importance of Total Quality Management (TQM) at a felicitation function organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Tuesday.

Speaking to a select audience, Mr Venu Srinivasan, Managing Director, TVS Motor Company Ltd, stressed on the dynamic nature of TQM and spoke about how its application at TVS has helped increase productivity in various areas.

"TQM keeps changing. For instance, in the present scenario one of the key pillars of TQM at TVS would be brand building and new product development. Also, as we look forward to getting into various Asian markets and other countries, our TQM model has also changed accordingly," Mr Srinivasan said.

TVS Motor Company is the third company from the TVS group and the first two-wheeler company in the world to receive the Deming award. While, Sundaram-Clayton - Brakes Division (also a TVS Group company) is the 17th organisation in the world and the second outside Japan to win the Japan Quality Medal.
