NEW DELHI, March 20

INDIAN Airlines has hiked its domestic fares by 15 per cent with effect from March 26, citing substantial increase in ATF prices in the recent months.

With this hike, a Bangalore-Delhi ticket would cost Rs 16,240 for the business class from the current Rs 14,185, while an economy class ticket in the same route will cost Rs 10,895 against Rs 9,535, an Indian Airlines release said here.

A Chennai-Mumbai business class ticket would cost Rs 8,800 and economy class Rs 6,080 against Rs 7,715 and Rs 5,350, the release said.

APEX fares and point-to-point fares would also increase proportionately, while an attempt has been made to restructure the fares in such a way that the inter-region variations are minimised.
