Storage Corporate - Announcements Brocade picks CMS for support services Our Bureau
BANGALORE, April 2 BROCADE Communications Systems Inc, provider of infrastructure for storage area networks (SANs), has appointment CMS Computers Ltd, Mumbai, as its first qualified support partner (QSP) in India. With this announcement, CMS Computers will bring to India support services for all customer sites with Brocade SAN infrastructure deployment. The QSP is designed to combine Brocade's technical expertise and market leadership in the SAN market with the sales, services and support methodology and experience of fabric partners, master resellers, OEMs, and third-party service providers, in order to deliver world-class Brocade-authorised support and services to its customers. "We had several potential QSPs and finally settled on CMS Computers due to its ability to demonstrate and meet with the stringent specifications and technical requirements that Brocade has for QSPs,'' said Mr Deb Dutta, Regional Sales Director, Brocade Communications, South East Asia & India. CMS Computers has extensive support network across India. With teams in over 90 locations across the country and over 1,500 qualified engineers to provide support, the company is technically capable of effectively handling customer requirements across India. It can provide 24x7 support in key locations and offer high-end expertise for multiple server enterprises. By the end of the year, there will be at least two Brocade-certified engineers at each location, further enhancing customer support, according to a company release.. Partnering in the Brocade QSP programme enables CMS Computers to provide customers with the backup for both normal as well as mission-critical applications and provide support for all Brocade bundles. In addition to the partnership, a SAN demo lab has been set up in Mumbai, enabling potential customers to participate in developments. "This partnership would benefit end-users by allowing them to source support from a neutral provider and not be dependant on a single vendor,'' said Mr Dutta.
