Our Bureau

THE eSecurity Group of Tata Consultancy Services, located at its Advanced Technology Centre, Hyderabad, has announced the launch of its managed public key infrastructure (PKI) and digital signature services for the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ).

With these solutions, VSEZ will be able to leverage PKI and digital signatures to ensure the highest degree of security and accountability in all its electronics transactions with enterprises located in the special zone.

On Monday, the Development Commissioner of VSEZ, Ms Ratna Prabha, and her team were issued the Registration Authority (RA) certificates by TCS to manage digital certificates required by various Export-Oriented Units (EoUs) and SEZ units.

With two workflow applications, VSEZ has I-base that allows online filing of application forms and e-zone that enables online processing of the forms. TCS-CA has provided PKI-enabling software for incorporating digital signature technology with security applications that cut down time and costs of correspondence, phone calls and personal visits to the zone as these digital applications are expected to facilitate secure online communications.
