EC drops dumping process against Moser Baer India

Our Bureau

THE European Commission (EC) has terminated anti-dumping proceedings against Moser Baer India Ltd (MBIL) with regard to the manufacturing of recordable compact disks (CD-Rs).

"The favourable final conclusion of the dumping investigation, and the recent decision on the subsidy case, removes the uncertainty existing within the market and our shareholders on the future of our exports to the European Union," Mr Deepak Puri, Chairman and Managing Director, MBIL, said in a statement on Tuesday.

"This move is expected to benefit our European customers, and strengthen our competitive positioning in the region."

Last May, The EC had initiated anti-dumping investigation proceedings into the alleged dumping of CD-Rs by Indian exporters into European markets.

Moser Baer is the only exporter of such products from the country.
