Emirates offers special deals for Dubai festival

Vimala Vasan

ABU DHABI, June 7

EMIRATES Airline is offering special packages to and through Dubai this summer to coincide with the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) Festival, which gets under way on June 19.

Emirates Airline has released the offer, named `Emirates DSS 2003' to all passengers travelling on Emirates Airline on this sector, and this offer can be combined with all fares and is not restricted to any specific class of travel, according to a press release from the DSS organising committee made available to Business Line.

This package includes accommodation in select hotels in Dubai. The range is vast and visitors have around 16 properties to choose from, including four beach properties, and the package costs begin at $23.

This charge is for a single person per night and there are many more packages to choose from.

The airline said that it expected a 10 to 15 per cent increase in sales during the festival period and plans were also on to provide extra flights in some sectors.

Apart from the 16 hotels, Arabian Adventures will take care of `meet and assist' at the Dubai Airport. Hotels will provide complimentary transportation to and from DSS venues and will throw in benefits like complimentary breakfast. These offers are available from most Emirates offices worldwide and also on the Emirates Airline Web site www.emirates.com.

DSS 2003 will start with the Flower Surprises on June 19, followed by Cartoon Surprises, Colors Surprises, Sweet Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Ice Surprises, Arts Surprises, Heritage Surprises, Adventure Surprises, and will end with Back-to-School Surprises on August 29.
