FAPCCI to host workshop on Companies Bill

HYDERABAD, July 3

THE Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) is organising a daylong workshop on Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2003, on July 8 here to discuss and analyse various the provisions of the Bill.

"The workshop will deliberate on amendments relating to directors, board meetings and general meetings, accounts, audit and audit committees," a FAPCCI official said here in a press release on Thursday.

It will also discuss issues related to professionals such as company secretaries, chartered accountants and cost and works accountants.

Slated to be inaugurated by Mr Samir Biswas, the Regional Director of Department of Company Affairs (Southern Region), the workshop will have a panel of speakers including Dr K.R. Chandratre, Past President of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and Mr L.V.V. Iyer, a leading corporate lawyer, the official said.

"The suggestions and comments emerged out of the workshop will be submitted to the Department of Company Affairs for its consideration before the legislation is finalised," he said.
